Nathan's Story
My journey in the world of baking commenced a decade ago with the introduction of "Cupcake Fridays" at the school where I once served as a teacher. While my love for baking had always been present, it was only six years ago that I transitioned into professional baking in Pocatello. The pivotal moment came when I crafted my first significant cake for LD Wolfley's 60th birthday celebration. Encouraged by LD, as well as the unwavering support of friends and family, I decided to pursue baking as a career rather than a mere pastime, gradually transforming it into the thriving business it is today.
During the chaos of COVID we decided, "why not start a bakery? We embarked on a renovation project to convert the upper floor of Flowers By LD into a commercial kitchen. This endeavor also involved repurposing underutilized space within the flower shop's retail area to establish a bakery counter. The integration of the flower shop and bakery has proven to be a resounding success. The symbiotic relationship between the two businesses is evident in their seamless collaboration, catering to a wide range of occasions from special events and weddings to daily deliveries of flowers and freshly baked goods to cherished recipients. Ultimately, this partnership allows me to spend my days surrounded by friends and family while pursuing my passion for baking.
